The beautiful devil marionette, which is the only one of its kind, has found its way into our collection. We are excited to introduce you to this piece of history, which is well made and preserved in great condition. Notice the devil's metal chain and the details on his hood, which is made of beautiful fabric. His elaborate face gives him a magical and mysterious touch.
Karel Krob (1904 - 1974) originally trained as a shoemaker, but from a young age, he was fascinated by the puppetry world. That is why he also devoted all his free time to carving and making puppets. He continued the tradition of Czech puppeteers because he carved puppets as he remembered them from puppet shows of his childhood. Initially, he made puppets only for the pleasure of his children, acquaintances, and friends. Later, he carved marionettes for puppet ensembles, including the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theater. Today, his works are represented in a number of museums and private collections and marionette ensembles.
My 17 year old daughter absolutely adores Annie! As she said, “Shes not just a doll—shes a work of art!” This is an exquisite marionette. Obviously made with great artistry and attention to detail. Beyond lovely!
