Some marionettes are made to be displayed. This one was made to dance. Created piece by piece in our own atelier, the African Dancer is a professional-level performance marionette designed for expressive movement and a natural connection between the puppet and the puppeteer.

Her specialized horizontal controller and carefully designed joints provide an impressive range of motion, allowing for fluid gestures, dynamic poses, and lively dance movements. Despite her advanced construction, she is intuitive to control and remarkably responsive, truly coming alive in the hands of a puppeteer.

Exceptional Mobility, Handmade in Our Atelier

The lightweight body is created using 3D printing technology for greater comfort during longer performances. Her face is individually hand-painted, while her clothing, jewelry, hair, and accessories are carefully handmade by artists in our workshop. Inspired by the vibrant colors, visual traditions, and dance cultures found across Africa, every detail contributes to her distinctive character.
